In January six of our volunteers travelled to Kolkata to work directly with ISW. For most of us it was our first time in India and the experience was unforgettable. We visited the projects that, with the support of Friends of Kolkata, ISW run to help improve peoples lives in the communities of Kolkata.

FoK volunteers visit Science City with girls from the Scholarship Program
From the adorable children to the delicious food to the rollercoaster-type rides on the Indian roads, it was a wonderful and often chaotic three weeks. We all returned with amazing memories and a fervent desire to do more to help all the wonderful people we met.
We will have more to come about the the experiences from the trip that includes a bit of football, a George Harrison cover version, a YMCA dance off with 300 children, a goat and plenty more. You can read more about the trip and the how you can help support the projects throughout our website. There are also some great photos int he media section. If you are interested in taking part in the next volunteer trip to Kolkata then get involved today and become a member of Friends Of Kolkata.
