An Australian not for profit association supporting communities in Kolkata, India

A letter from ISW

Having been denied our social, economic and political rights over the years, ISW formed in a strong determination with an oath to eradicate inequality of the deprived sections of the society especially women and children. For the last thirty years, ISW has remained devoted to the socio-economic development of the oppressed masses, laying particular emphasis on education and health and to build consciousness among women to identify the causes of deprivation and to organise women in groups by training to fight against it.

We as a group stand with Friends of Kolkata who have stretched their hands to express their solidarity for struggling against the denial of social, economic and political rights, especially the women who have borne the double and triple burden by being women, part of oppressed and deprived communities, and part of oppressed classes which represent half the population of the country and yet are the vast majority living below the poverty line, as illiterate, marginalised. But we will overcome all these socio-economic inequalities by sharing our Human Resources and Friendship.
