Programme objectives
Important information for intern applicantsAs Friends of Kolkata is an entirely volunteer run organisation (and has been so since it’s inception in 2004), our internships may differ from those of larger and more established NGOs. Firstly, we do not have office space – we meet out of active members houses, workplaces, and places of study. This saves overheads and ensures that we can donate virtually all our funds to our partner organisation in Kolkata. Because of this, successful interns would be expected to be adaptable and work out of facilities that they can access, such as university libraries, home, or work. Secondly, as all active Fok members do their Fok work outside their existing paid work and/or study hours, there is limitations on how much supervision we are able to provide. This will depend on the availability of the relevant intern’s project coordinator. The exact nature of the supervision will be mutually agreed with the successful interns and their coordinator after selection. Internship position descriptions |
